Indian Register for Exercise Facilities ( IREF ) is the leading national fitness industry body established to represent the voice of the industry, advocate policy changes, dialogue with Government and to enable in ensuring the quality and standards of the gyms, fitness centers and other exercise facilities across the country. IREF was formed under the aegis of Sports & Fitness Sector Skill Council ( SPEFL-SC ) and is supported.
by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), which is the largest and the oldest Industry association of India, IREF has prominent members of National and International repute as its core management board.
The SPEFL-SC is a Sector Skills Council under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, working with National Skill Development Corporation ( NSDC ) and is mandated to impact 2.1 million people over ten years. It is also the member of the committee formed under Sports Authority of India to frame the guidelines for Gyms to operate under Covid -19 conditions. It is also the official partner of Euro Active, which is the largest register for Fitness professionals and Exercise facilities in the world.
